An Excellent Way to Lose Weight: Walking

Lose Weight By Walking

So, you’ve decided it’s about time you start losing some weight, and that working out regularly would be a good place to begin. If you haven’t worked out in a long time, or never, you may not know how to get moving. It might even feel a little scary, commitment wise. You’re lucky because it’s not that confusing or hard to do – just begin walking. You unquestionably must add walking into your exercise plan if you haven’t done so already.

You’ll be astonished how easy it is to squeeze walking into your workout program. Have a dog? Take your dog for a pleasant, long walk. Anything under 10 minutes doesn’t count. It may only have been ten minutes, but in a week that equates to 70 minutes, which is quite a lot of walking.

If you and your dog go walking two times a day then that number is multiplied by two. Another thing you might want to try is walking part of the way to your office building; you can make this as long as you want by just stopping short of your workplace.

Walking – The Original Exercise

Certainly, irrespective of how far you are located from your place of work, you can work something out to get some exercise on the way there. If you’re lucky enough to have just a thirty-minute or so walk to where you work, that’ll be an extra hour of walking each day. If you use the bus to get to work, simply start using a stop that’s a little farther from either end.

You’ll find it really is no big deal to add more walking to your daily exercise regimen. If you want to be healthier overall, you can’t lose by walking. As walking an aerobic exercise, you’ll burn off calories, which means you’ll get rid of excess weight and it’s also great for your heart.

You don’t have to worry about overworking your joints or muscles like when running, as you can walk as slowly as you need to. I have a lean brother who seems to be able to consume anything he wants and remain thin. I asked him about it. He says he’s never truly thought about it, but maybe it’s because he walks quite a bit every day.

Walking to Lose Weight And Get In Shape

When he told me that, everything abruptly made sense. Since, for many of us, nothing is easier than walking, we have no reason not to. You’ll have a better likelihood of sticking with your walking regimen if you simply make it part of your day-to-day routine. Then, with a proper, healthy diet, you’ll also start melting off the pounds as if by magic.

By walking you’ll also feel better and you won’t be discouraged by it as it’s not exhausting at all, which will make you feel more driven. As you walk more and observe changes, you’ll want to do more or increase the level of intensity of your walks. Why should you hold back, if you think you can do a lot more?

See if you can walk more quickly or, if you’re feeling very positive, you could start jogging. And you can go on to even more difficult exercise regimens, if you prefer. What more do you need to know? Are you inspired to begin walking? You can always find time to walk around your workplace, or the block. If not, sign up for a gym membership and get on a treadmill. There are lots and lots of ways to skin this exercise cat.
